The Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) has announced a 26-member squad for the upcoming Asian Champions Trophy in Jalandhar. Following Pakistan's withdrawal, the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) invited Bangladesh, opening their path to participation. The squad is primarily composed of domestic league players, with no representation from foreign leagues. The tournament is scheduled to be held in Jalandhar, India, from October 27 to November 5, though these dates and venue are yet to be confirmed on the AHF's official calendar. Bangladesh finished 8th at the 2026 Asian Games, indicating their lower-middle continental standing. This invitation presents a developmental opportunity for Bangladesh, but their competitive challenges on the field are significant, facing strong teams like India, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and China.
